Next Generation Ministries

Our Next-Gen Ministries are the place where we serve the next generation so that they may discover and develop a real relationship with Jesus. Across the age groups we share one united vision:

To partner with parents in their incredible, God-given journey of raising faith filled kids who love God with all their heart, soul, strength and mind and love others as they love themselves.

One of the ways we do this is by including kids in our sung worship on Sundays. For more on why we do this, what we believe, and how you can help your kids engage in this moment with you, click here:

Kids In Worship

Kids Rock is the children’s ministry of Common Ground Church. All children from 1 years old to Grade 3 are welcome in this fun, friendly and safe environment.

We strive to impart the truths of the gospel in a fun, engaging and age relevant/appropriate way. We believe that all kids are loved by God and can experience his presence. Kids are encouraged towards a real everyday relationship with God through sung worship, gospel-centered teaching, relational small groups, playtime, crafts, and games.

Meets on Sundays at 8:30am and 10:30am

Ignite is the preteen ministry of Common Ground Church. We recognize that our grade 4-7’s are at a key transitional stage in their lives. They are increasingly enjoying their growing independence, searching to figure out who they are and what they believe and are looking for community to belong to.

At Ignite we encourage them to explore all these things in a safe, Christ-centered environment, alongside leaders who are interested in their daily lives, through worship, gospel-centered messages, relational small groups and games.

Meets on Sundays at 8:30am and 10:30am

Monthly meet-ups Friday 5pm

Frequency is the high-school ministry of Common Ground Church. More than just a place or an event, we are a bunch of very ordinary people living by faith in an extraordinary God.

We place a high value on relational discipleship, and we view small groups as a key part of our ministry.

Meets twice a month on Fridays from 7:00-9:00pm

Helping Children Engage In Sung Worship

Building Faith That Lasts—Together

At our church, we believe faith is not only taught, but caught. When children worship alongside their parents, they are learning far more than lyrics—they are learning how faith looks in real life.

Here are a few intentional, simple ways parents can help their children engage meaningfully in sung worship during our services:

  • Help your children understand that worship is something we do together.

    ●      Gently say things like, “This is a time when we tell God how much we love Him.”

    ●      Encourage them to stand with you and be part of what’s happening, even if they don’t sing every word.

  • Children are shaped by what they observe.

    ●      Sing—even quietly.

    ●      Show attentiveness through your posture and focus.

    ●      Let your children see that worship matters to you, not because you have to, but because you want to.

When kids see real people loving a real Jesus with real hearts, faith becomes believable.

  • You don’t need a long explanation—small moments make a big impact.

    ●      Whisper a simple phrase during a song:
“This song reminds us that God is always with us.”

    ●      Point out a repeated line and ask, “Why do you think we keep singing that?”

  • Worship doesn’t look the same for everyone—especially children.

    ●      Let them hum, sing a few words, or simply listen.

    ●      Reassure them that God cares more about their heart than how well they sing.

  • For younger children especially, closeness builds security and focus.

    ●      Hold hands, let them lean against you, or gently sway together.

    ●      These small gestures communicate: “We are worshiping together.”

  • These conversations help children process what they experienced.

    ●      Ask simple questions:

    ○      “What song did you like today?”

    ○      “What do you think that song was about?”

    ●      Share one line that stood out to you and why it mattered.

  • What happens outside the church shapes what happens inside it.

    ●      Listen to worship songs during the week—on the way to school or at home.

    ●      Sing together during family prayer or quiet moments.

When worship becomes part of daily life, Sunday worship feels familiar and safe.

  • Faith formation takes time.

    ●      Some weeks will feel distracted or restless—and that’s okay.

    ●      Every moment spent worshiping together is planting seeds God will grow.

By choosing to worship together, you are giving your children a powerful gift:
a lived example of faith that is sincere, joyful, and rooted in love for Jesus.

Thank you for partnering with us as we raise a generation who doesn’t just know about God—but knows how to love, worship, and follow Him.
